Webcam connector location on A2179

Hi,

I have replaced the screen assembly on a MacBook Air early 2020 (A2179) and there is a note on the back of the screen advising to make sure the display and camera connections are correctly connected.

Is this the same connector for both? As I can only see one connector that I removed when I took the screen off.

Also, I need to test it but can only use the guest account until the owner returns on Friday. Does the standard guest account have permissions to use the webcam?

Thanks in advance,

G

There are five cables involved with the display:

You have the four from the display connecting to the T-CON board and then you have one cable coming from the logic board to the T-CON.

If the display is showing that validates the two wider display cabled and the video side of the logic board cable. That leaves one of the smaller cable connections from the display which is the camera feed and the other is the display back light feed. If you look carefully the copper lines are bigger on the backlight cable.

That then leaves the logic board or camera cable which could have damaged connector contacts or traces within the cables.
