Is it fixable or fried?

the last couple of weeks my iphone has been overheating, crashing, and powering off. my battery capacity is at 79%, it charges relatively quickly but dies insanely fast. i have maybe an average amount of apps and a couple hundred photos. my storage has about 50 GB left as well. i am updated to current ios.

the overheating happens almost immediately after i unlock my phone, once it gets too hot it lags, freezes, and crashes.

i'm wondering if it needs a new battery or if it is completely fried?

i had this issue with a iPhone 7+, what worked for me was replacing the battery, especially because your battery is degraded since your battery's health is below 80%, so it would be 2 birds and one stone.
