A1993 Mac Mini 2018 Not turning on, PSU delivering 12v to 7 pins

Hello there,

I have a Mac Mini 2018 A1993 and it's not turning on at all. When I plug in a power lead and press the power button there are no LEDs and the fan doesn't spin.

I tested the pins on the PSU and 7 of them were 12V. Power to the LEDs and fans were active. The power button does work completely fine too.

Could anyone offer any advice on what I could do to diagnose/repair this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

@navneetbedi sounds like your PSU is working. Time to focus on your logic board. "Power to the LEDs and fans were active" let us know where you measured the voltages. Do a visual inspection and check the components carefully. Check for anything that looks odd. You can always post images of what you find with your Question. That way we can see what you see.

Also, remove your RAM and see if that makes a change. I know it should be beeping if it is the RAM but just to be on the safe side. Measure the voltage on the large inductor by the power connector. Let's see if you get 12V on that one.

Removing the ram didn't make a change, could you point me to where the large inductor is? I couldn't see any odd looking components on the board. Thank you!

@navneetbedi it will make all the difference if we can see your board, not something from someone else. It's all about you and your computer's issue. If we can see your board, we might discover things :-)
