@li2 the 3100 uses eMMC storage which is soldered to the motherboard and it is not replaceable.

@li2 not on the Chromebook just on the card. Check the Dell Chromebook 3100 2 In 1 Service Manual toward the end it tells you how to do a reset and recovery. Hope it'll answer all of your questions.

@oldturkey03 is it possible to unsolder the eMMC storage and replace it with a new one or it wouldn't work because the system wouldn't recognize it

@li2 it does not work that way. It's a different IC's then what you might be used too.

@oldturkey03 can you use a sd card and install chrome os on that would that work

@li2 it's got the card reader that you can (must) use to install your OS, so I do not see why it would not work. Just use a large enough card and go for it :-)

@oldturkey03 Thanks for letting me know but do you have to wipe the memory first on the Chromebook for sd card?
