I found my daughter’s Game Boy packed away in a bin in the basement. It’s been there for at least 15 years since she moved out. I thought my grandkids would like it. I cleaned the battery area and used new batteries but I can’t get it to turn on. The battery light doesn’t even come on. I called Nintendo and they no longer repair them. Any suggestions?

@lorimaleko27985 the very first thing you want to do is to clean the battery contacts. Make sure they have not corroded to badly. If those are okay, you will have to disassemble your GB and take a look at the components. You could try and clean it with some isopropyl alcohol (+90%) and carefully check to see if there is anything obviously corroded etc. Until you have it apart, anything will only be a guess. Use Game Boy these guides to help you with taking it apart. Once you have it open, take a couple of well focused pictures and post those with your Question. That way we can see what you see and hopefully guide you further. Adding images to an existing question

Thank you. I just ordered a tri-wing screwdriver off Amazon and should receive it in a few days. I’ll let you know how I make out when I have it apart.
