MacBook stops working after changing screen

Hello. Yesterday I changed the screen on my 2020 M1 macbook pro and something strange happened. The computer apparently stops working and not even an external screen recognized it using HDMI when it did recognize it with the old broken screen. My surprise was that when I reconnected the old broken screen, the Mac worked again and the external screen recognized it again.

The only thing I can think of that could happen is that the new screen comes with the brightness disabled and then looks black (my computer also has a broken touch bar so I can't try increasing the brightness) anyway this is just a hypothesis.

Any idea why the computer apparently stops working and doesn't even recognize the HDMI connection when changing the screen?

Thank you very much for your time

It sounds like there could be a fault with the new display you installed. That sometimes happens, especially when purchasing through third party retailers online. Some things to consider: Was the battery disconnected before you replaced the display? Are you confident it's the correct model display? Do you have the ability to return the display and get another one? Good luck!
