Spilled red wine on keyboard. Got my data. Now dead. Won't charge.

Spilled about a tablespoon of red wine on keyboard. Battery was low. Was able to retrieve data through migration assistant to replacement laptop. Before battery died soon thereafter and would not charge, laptop appeared to be operating normally. According to independent repair shop diagnosis, there is damage to the power board and the laptop is not fixable. Should I try to resurrect the laptop? I am willing to try. I am fairly patient but not an expert. Thank you.
