Repair and disassembly information for Google's Pixel 7 Pro smartphone, released in October 2022. Identified by model number GP4BC and GE2AE.

The screen does not turn on after replacing the screen.

I bought the screen replacement kit from ifixit. The original screen was broken and was flickering, had dead pixels too. I turned off the phone befoe beginning the repairs.

Following the instructions on youtube and ifixit website, I replaced the screen without any issues. After I charged the phone, I noticed that that I could feel the phone turn on (haptic feedback/buzz), but there is no display.

Any thoughts on how I might recover this phone?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Im having the same problem, and there's nothing online anywhere that says anything other than unplug the battery. Remember when you used to be able to find $@$* on the internet? Have you ever figured out how to get yours working

Unfortunately, I've had far too many opportunities to post my opinion regarding the quality of Google's repair parts, and your post only adds to that.

In my time here on iFixit, I've noticed a disturbing trend of people reporting that brand new replacement parts for Pixel phones turn out to be defective or nonfunctional. Having a Pixel 6 Pro myself, I tend to notice posts regarding them, and there are simply far too many to be ignored.

My conclusion is that Google has quality control issues with their replacement parts, so the new screen you got should be considered suspect. I would suggest you test this theory by opening it back up and plugging in the original screen. If it functions at least as well as it did prior to the replacement, then the new one is probably defective and should be returned for replacement under warranty.

iFixit sells genuine Google screens, and they all come with a lifetime warranty, so I have little doubt the iFixit Store personnel will be able to help you out with this situation. Contact them at support@ifixit.com and explain the situation and they will work with you to make it right. My own experience with them has been nothing but exemplary so I expect yours will be as well.

I'm having the same issue so I'm wondering if it was more than just the screen that broke. Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

Did you disconnect the battery before changing the screen?

Yes, I dropped it off to a store and they were able to fix it, by disconnecting a battery and the reconnecting the screen and battery. That fixed the problem
