Display Adapter Conversion Board

I am trying to take the screen from the laptop which uses LDVS and plug it into a new board that uses eDP. Is there a wiring diagram or possible converter I can use to make this work?

@thatikid4 a screen from what and plug it in where? Give us more description about the screen either a part number or a model number would be good. Same about the "plug it into a new board that uses eDP" Be descriptive. There might be workarounds but we really would need more information. Give us the details of what you have at hand and what your plans are.

There are plenty of LVDS to eDP conversion adapters but not all panels can be used that way. You may not have the physical room to do this type of conversion on the inside of a laptop

I am going from the screen on the MacBook Pro A1278 (not sure if this is enough information) to a Framework intel 11th gen board (https://frame.work/products/mainboard-11...).

I should have room for a board within the existing chassis from most things I was seeing online but I am not 100% confident. If it would be easier to go from LVDS to HDMI or any other standard I could make that work.

@thatikid4 do you have a year for the MBP1278 or do you have any kind of label on the display?

by

Its a 2012. Not sure about the display as I dont see any indicators with how far I am into the laptop.

@thatikid4 you may have to check the LVDS pinout from the logic board against the wiring on an adapter board. Once you have a panel identifier then you can check which adapter will fit that panel and what displyy cable you will need. I'd go inexpensive for now and work with that.

Any way I should be able to find this display identifier on the device itself?

Sorry there is no means to convert laptop displays signaling between LVDS to either iDP or eDP.

If you had an iMac there are kits which can convert the display into a mDP or HDMI external display.
