Why is my Xbox shaking + making Loud noises when attempting disk read

My Xbox loads up fine, but when I load a disk in it, it will have problems reading it, and it will shake violently and make loud noises. I've checked the discs, and they are clean and unscratched. Does anyone know what the problem could be? (It's also missing the screws to the disc drive and main cover courtesy of the previous owner, and I think that may be the problem)

This is for sure an issue with the disk drive, have you tried cleaning it?

I believe it is a problem with the disc drive because the problem only happens when it attempts to read a disc. Also yes I have tried to clean it.

It could be an issue with the rubber bands inside the disk drive, would you be able to check what condition they are in?

@criedwareinit do you mean the drive belt band? If so I've already replaced it

@turtlelaw Did you also check if anything within the drive that might be vital for it's functionality (such as the mechanical parts) are broken or missing?

@turtlelaw this sounds like an issue with the spindle mechanism or the spindle motor. You may have to disassemble the drive and check that out. Xbox Thomson DVD Drive Disassembly
