How to reinsert screen into holder

About a week ago the screen popped off my apple watch 2 because the battery was swollen, and after taking the watch apart following ifixits guide, I noticed that mine had come apart very different to those online.

On all the guides I've seen the screen has come off in one piece however I appear to have 2, the screen itself and the outer rim. I can't seem to find a way other than to glue them together and there does not appear to be any support structure to help align them and it has basically 0 tolerance. Is this a one of a kind case or is there some way to attach them together without trying to eyeball it?

I would probably just replace the screen entirely. Keep the original part though as Apple is known for locking features behind numbers software locked to the original parts.

I went ahead and glued them together and it has worked well, buying another screen while this one still worked seemed a bit overkill for me especially considering the age of the watch

My concern was the potential of lost functionality that can come with just gluing it together. Obviously up to you to solve it differently.
