Why does my CD player keep saying that there is no disc for every CD

Hi @jazabelia

Can you hear if the disc is spinning after it has been inserted into the player?

If not before inserting the disc, take note of the orientation of the label on the disc e.g. writing on disc label upside down when viewing or able to be read normally etc, then insert the disc and when the error message appears eject the disc and check if the label has moved indicating whether the disc has turned or not.

If the disc hasn't turned then it may be a faulty belt in the CD drive

If the disc is spinning can you hear the lens shuttle in the player track back and forth trying to locate the start of the disc?

If you can and since there's an error message, try cleaning the laser lens in the player using a cd laser lens cleaner (examples only) and check if that resolves the problem
