Unable to use iTune on Mac!

Hi, I am unable to use iTune on Mac. When I open the app and try to play a music, it does not work. I have no idea what could be the issue. Can anyone please help how to fix it?

Update (02/28/24)

Thank you so much @jadonlyon for your help. But I understand for what reason I could not access to play the Apple music. Actually the sync library was disabled and this article helped me to find out the solutions. So according to the article's instruction, first I enabled the sync library and then updated music library.

After doing these tasks properly, the problem got solved. Now I can enjoy playing music.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hey there!

So, try the easiest solution first: In the Menu Bar, click Account > Authorizations > Authorize this Computer. You will need to enter your Apple ID and Password.

If that doesn't work, try this: In the Menu Bar, click Account > Sign Out. Give iTunes a second to sign out completely. Your Library may flash a couple of time.

If you have Apple Music, you will have the Cloud Library. If not, make a backup of your Music Library. With Finder open, in the Menu Bar head to Go > Home. There, open the Music folder. Make a copy of the iTunes folder. Save it into downloads, or maybe a USB Drive. Once complete, delete the iTunes folder. In the Dock, open the Trash, and Empty the Trash. Reboot your Mac.

When you open iTunes now, you probably won't have any songs in your Library. Now, you have two options: If you don't have Apple Music, copy the iTunes folder back into the Music folder. If you do have Apple Music, click Account > Sign In. Enter your Apple ID and Password. iTunes will load for a second, and you will see your songs once again.

Hope this helps!

@jadonlyon - I think he’s past that point from the description. Sounds more like a hardware issue.

@danj - Okay, I did not notice that.

@manuelscha28038 - Can you play audio through other apps? (Safari, Spotify, etc.)
