Replacement charger that properly fits into the charge port?

Hello,

So I have an Acer Swift 3 51 56MY gold laptop. The original charger unfortunately broke, so I had to buy another one.

Initially I bought a charger from Amazon that said the charger connector size was 3.0 x 1.1mm. However, this did not fit into the laptop's charge port, so I had to return it. I found another charger that was 3.0 x 1.0mm. This one fit into the laptop. The problem is it's very loose and comes out of the port easily which results in continuous charger disconnects/reconnects.

As a temporary "fix", I carefully added some solder to the charger connector (on the metal part) and now the charger fits into the laptop port and doesn't easily fall out. Laptop charges and no longer disconnects/reconnects every time you move the laptop around. It also comes out of the port without issue (just have to use more force now since it now fits tighter into the port).

I'm not particularly happy with this workaround since I'm not sure if it's safe to do this or if the workaround will last, so I'm still on the lookout for a proper replacement charger. Does anyone know where to buy a charger that properly fits the laptop? I'm located in the UK.

Appreciate any help.

The easiest thing to do is just buy one of the chargers with multiple connectors that has the correct power specifications for your model laptop.

But your inventive solution seems fine to me - as long as the charger specifications are correct. Well done.

Yeah, the power specs of the new charger are the same as the old charger (made sure to check original power brick before searching for a replacement).

It's no longer loose now that I added solder to the connector. I may just continue using this if it's fine. My only issue with the replacement was the loose connector.
