Broken backlight ribbon cable.

Can I just buy a new cable or does this require micro soldering? The lcd cable still works as I can see the display. But the bottom connector for the cable on the right side is broken. See photos.

So while the screen is able to display an image are you sure it’s complete? These cables also carry the backlights power and the camera data back to the logic board.

Sorry to say there really isn’t a way to solder the ribbon cable and they are not available as a part. You would need to see if you can salvage a cable from a parts system, that’s assuming you can even get to the end point within the display to swap out the cable. That is where some under a microscope soldering would be needed.

In the end I think it’s just better to replace the display with a fresh one than try to fix this one.
