Spilled beer on MBP, it works now, fans won't stop spinning.

I spilled beer on my MBP. A small amount right on my keyboard. It immediately shut off. I followed advice, took the back panel off and let it air dry open and upside down. I did not take apart the internals because I didn't have the right screw heads and I didn't want to mess with the battery.

After letting it dry overnight, it works, but the keyboard is still sticky.

The only problem is my fans won't stop spinning. As soon as I turn the computer on and the chime goes off the fans are spinning at max RPM. When I close the laptop to put it to sleep the fans will stop spinning after a while. Immediately after opening the computer, they are back at max RPM.

The computer is not under warranty. I would appreciate any advice!

First place to start is removing all power sources from it and not attaching them until the logic board has been properly cleaned. Find the iFixit guide(s) to removing your battery and logic board to help you (You haven't listed your machine and there are 9 different MBP 15" models.). Click here for iFixit's guide on cleaning up electronics after exposure to liquid.

During reassembly you will need to reapply thermal compound to the CPU and video chips if your model requires removal of the heatsink to remove the motherboard. I suggest arctic silver 5. It only needs a very thin layer.

After it is reassembled reset the PRAM and SMC. Click here and click here for instructions on for the resets.
