Hello All,

Please i need a help

I have a Kaiser air compressor which is over heating the power cable

I did a continuity test at the power terminals on the compressor it read:

*Red-Yellow phase read Open(No continuity)

*Yellow-Blue phase read Continuity

Hi @crownedvariety

What is the model number of the air compressor?

Not exactly sure where you tested at but you may have to check the motor windings at the motor itself. (with the power supply wires disconnected from the motor terminals. Takes pictures before disconnecting to ensure that you replace them correctly)

Seems as though it may be a 3 phase motor and if so there should be continuity between, red-yellow, yellow-blue and red-blue.

Since there's no reading between red-yellow the winding may be open circuit.

Here's a link that describes how to test and what other things to check that may help.

Its actually a 3 phase motor... You answered my question, "Since there's no reading between red-yellow the winding may be open circuit" Thanks very much for this ☺️
