How do I fix the black bar in the screen?

QN43LS03BAFXZA

For context, there was no black bar in the center of the screen when I purchased this TV as an open box. It was packed and shipped to me, where I hung the TV today. Upon turning it on, I see this black bar. Is it screen damage or a TCon issue? Thank you.

@smetzger27159 that is a display issue. This is where your LED driver board has lost power to one of the source driver ribbon cables. Check the driver board (those are the long skinny boards that connect to the panel via multiple film ribbon cables. See if you can make out some obviously damaged component. There are no schematics for these boards nor are they replaceable. That is why it is still considered a panel error.

@oldturkey03 I see, thank you. That means then that my options are to either replace the panel or replace the whole tv right?

@smetzger27159 correct. Sadly enough, a replacement panel is most likely going to coast as much as a new TV. Of course, you can always search for a panel by checking the label on the backside of your panel. Use that panel number for an online search.
