@ahmeth that depends on the adapter and what you have connected to it. If you have a device that draws a higher amperage then you charger can deliver, it will heat up.

It is also possible that some of the components are just at the end of their capabilities. Remember that a lot of heat is being created by transforming your current from household current to whatever your power adapter puts out. Heat is the enemy of electronic components. Heat increases resistance which cause more heat etc.

Get a new power adapter to make sure your device and you power supply remain safe and working.

Start by defining what "overheating" is to you and if that causes problems with the attached display.

All Adapters will warm up. Then verify that the adapter is rght for the display especially if it is a replacement adapter. Both the adapter and the display have current ratings. The adapter should be able to supply more than the display requires.

After all that, replace the adapter.
