Camera stopped working, even after factory reset

I´ve had my Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 for around 2 years now, and I have dropped it a couple of times but since it has a protective cover, there has not been real damage to the phone casing. Randomly on a morning I wanted to use the camera and when opening the camera app, whatsapp, snapchat, instagram, and even downloaded third party camera apps... The camera screen is black and frozen. Cant even switch to the front camera to test it out, everything is stuck. I tried everything I have found on the internet to troubleshoot it, but nothing seems to work. I even made a factory reset thinking it could be a bug but the same issue persisted even when resetting the OS. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @kris90165

Usually a factory reset is a good indicator of whether it is a hardware problem or a software problem i.e. if it works after a factory reset (and before restoring with a backup) it's software, if not it's hardware.

Try testing the camera using the test code shown for the QC test (scroll down to #6) to see what it shows.

if it still fails you will have to open the phone and check that the camera connections to the systemboard are secure and if so then the camera module may have to be replaced. The hard part is knowing whether it is the front camera or the rear camera that is the cause of the problem.

Here's a video that may help.
