Prevent power-on in all ways Except pressing the power button

When opening the lid, or pressing on my mousepad, I immediately activate powering up the laptop. While that’s nice and convenient, I would just like the old school way of powering up… just using the power button.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sorry, I don’t see any way to alter that. If you don’t close the lid you can alter the hot corner in the screen saver setting too a corner puts the system to sleep mode (darkening the screen) but that won’t alter the lifting of the lid wake action.

Thanks for your answer. So I guess this is a great laptop for hackers and trackers. Maybe if I remove the battery every time, I’d be able to power off. Hahahuh

@chatafixing - Huh?? With the lid closed without cutting off the power your system is not accessible to unfriendly hackers or trackers.

Even FindMyMac service is only accessible by you, but it only works when the computer is able to access the internet to phone home (Apple) and via the Apple server you get the notification.

So... Think it this way you call a friend on your cell he doesn't answer but he knows you called him the session you created originally is not accessible to him only the phone number which he would need to dial. This same session model holds true here with your Mac and just like how you can ignore unwanted calls your Mac likewise won't respond.
