Bosé Soundlink Mobile Speaker Flashing Red Battery

Picked up this speaker at a consignment store and when plugged in it flashes a red battery and does nothing more. It did not come with a charger, however It calls for a 17-20v 1A adapter and I am using a Bose adapter from a sound bar that is 20v 1.9A.

Help!

@mfirestar the very first thing I would do is to replace the battery. It is most likely no longer holding/accepting a charge. Once you have a new battery installed, re-evaluate. If nothing else, you will at least have a known-well place to start further troubleshooting
