Remove Existing Joystick Solder

I am trying to replace the joystick due to it sticking/stick drift; however, I cannot remove the existing solder. Does anyone have any tips or am I doing it wrong? I also believe I've burnt the circuit board but luckily this is a practice one.

Hi @jayshiz

I would apply flux to the solder joints and use low melt solder to mix with the existing (probably lead free) solder. It will make it easier to reflow them with a heat gun or a soldering iron.

Once you managed to get it out, clean the holes with solder wick and you'll have no problem installing the new stick.

Hope it helps!
