fingerprint calibration after replacing screen

after replacing my screen you must recalibrate your fingerprint sensor with some software from google and im having issues with the tool installing on my phone. is there something that im missing, or is it an issues with the display i received and i should ask for another because ive also seen people post saying they didnt have to do anything to get the fingerprint sensor to work.

I see this has been an issue many other people have had, but googles calibration tool no longer is able to install the tool to do this. ive seen a work around posted, but it requires you to downgrade your OS and factory reset your device to then be able to get the tool to install.

turns out i was in fastbootd mode instead of the regular fastboot mode. just restart your phone and when the screen goes black hold volume down. was able to get the tool to run after entering the correct mode.

when you say fastbootd ,mode is that where you can see options on the left hand side not just a red triangle? if so i think that maybe what i'm doing too?

same problem here, in fastboot mode and the online tool does not see the device, replacement screen was purchased from Ifixit.

@richard1261 I know I'm late to the party responding to this, but just wanted to note that iFixit sells genuine Google parts for the Pixel phones, so you can't really get any better/more compatible screen on the market.

Salve,

per programmare il finger, bisogna resettare il cellulare ? Ci sono diverse idee per questo problema

When you go to the Google Chrome repair page, make sure you scroll past the big blue "Get Started" button and down to the "Install fingerprint calibration software" at the bottom. Also, be sure to restart the phone even after it has already restarted following the software installation. It worked fine for the Pixel 7 then.

Pixel 7a running on Android 14 lastest update.
Connected my device on a Chromebook and followed the steps as mentioned on iFixit. It worked! :-)
After initial reboot by the software, reboot again manually.

After this you should be able to reuse fingerprints as normal.

Remove sensor from old screen and install on new screen. No need to calibrate.
