Bluray player repair laser sled connector

I am looking for a way to replace the connector that attaches the laser sled to the drive mechanism in my LG UP970 Bluray player. The only help I have seen so far is that I can buy a whole new sled at a 50% premium of buying a whole new Bluray player. This seems silly to me as the part can be removed and seems like a 10cent part.

Currently considering gluing the existing part and/or learning to create a 3D model and 3d print this part. The attached photos show the broken part and one that shows where it should go. This is a Sony part, apparently.

@ertman I think both of these options would be a great idea. I think the 3d model might be better in the long run but you could certainly try your luck at super gluing the two parts together. When super gluing, make sure to line up the two parts as best as you can and allow plenty of time for them to bond (I would recommend 24 hours)
