Google Pixel 7 Pro screen flicker

Replaced a broken screen on the wife's Pixel 7 pro and it worked perfect for a few months . Now if she uses it longer then about 5 minutes straight she gets some crazy screen flicker and the screen will slowly almost white out . Trying to figure out what the next step is. Faulty screen? something else broken? Maybe a setting or program causing overheating of cpu ? any help would be appreciated

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi Keenan,

I have to agree with @ihave0idea that it's likely your replacement screen has failed. Whether that's due to physical or liquid damage, or an inherent defect in the screen, you'll probably never know. If it was a genuine Google replacement part (like what you'd get if you bought it from iFixit), then I'd lean toward the defective part diagnosis myself, as I've noted a disturbing tendency for genuine Google parts to have an unacceptably high defect rate.

It would probably be worth your time to back up the phone and try restoring it to factory settings and see if that has any effect on the problem. If not then you're almost certainly looking at having to replace the screen yet again. Given that your screen is only a few months old, it might be worthwhile checking with the vendor on their warranty policy. For example, if you bought it from iFixit then it has a lifetime warranty and would be replaced if found defective. You can check with them by emailing support@ifixit.com.
