My screen is white but plays music
my 3rd gen nano has a white screen, if i look at it from the side i can vaguely see the menu and it plays music

@elixer57015 this "if i look at it from the side i can vaguely see the menu" sounds like a bad screen. Use this guide iPod Nano 3rd Generation Display Replacement to replace it.
Since iFixit is out of stock do an online search and see what you can find.
