After opening the bottom case, laptop will no longer turn on.

My sister was complaining of overheating and the battery not lasting long, I figured we should open it up to repaste it and get a part number for the battery. After repasting I put it back together but now it will not turn on. Fan is plugged in, battery is screwed in, nothing was touched besides the case screws and the 4 screws holding on the heatsink. I have since opened it back up to double check my work, removing the battery is almost impossible without bending the frame or removing motherboard screws, I checked the ram and storage underneath the metal shields and everything seems fine.

Hi @packerman03,

just clarifying that the battery was disconnected when you were refreshing the thermal paste, is this correct?

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop.

Go to p.41 to view the procedure to remove the battery.

It shouldn't be as difficult as what you said.

Does the laptop indicate that it is charging when the charger is connected?

Try to disconnect the battery, then plug it in. Had an HP 15-p give me a mini heart attack when it was dead until that fixed the issue.

Re-seat the battery or take the battery out and give it wall power?

@packerman03 Remove it completely. Once it turns on again reinstall it.
