iPod stuck in a Restore loop

I put a 128gb micro SD card in my iPod classic 6th gen. I formatted the card in Windows and everything, I also put a new battery in it as well. When I went to restore the iPod in iTunes it would go through the process but after it reboots it goes right back into disk mode and asks for me to restore it. It does this over and over in a never-ending loop. I have run out of ideas and I need help. I have the latest version of iTunes for Windows 10 and attempted the DFU restore but it wouldn't recognize it in iTunes.
