Apple touch ID button has malfunctioned

How do I replace and do I need a new mother board to replace it.

The TouchID part of the button is bonded to the logic board. You would need to replace both as a matched set. You might want to visit an Apple Store to see if they can help you. Depending on where you are you might still be covered under warranty! As long as you didn’t damage things.
