Here's a video that shows how to replace the battery in the phone.
Search online for KX50 battery to find battery suppliers that suit you best.
ifixit sells a range of tools that are suitable for replacing the battery in the phone. The back cover may not have to be replaced once the expanding battery has been removed. You may have to check and see what condition it is in after the battery has been removed whether it needs replacing or not.
Note: In the interim before you get it fixed, I suggest that you don't charge the phone or use it
