new laptop but power button is not working properly

Hello.
I recently bought this brand new ASUS laptop based on the 7940 chip from AMD.
My first real investment in a laptop after a lot of carefull research. I am super happy about it but from the first day I noticed that it didnt want to start right away.
I thought maybe it was a matter of memory training or something of the sort but sadly after 5 months of use i now know for a fact that its the power button.
The bios is very basic on this model so there is no alternative way to power it up and it can take several minutes of pressing in different ways, including jiggleing it until it powers up. I googled and found out that this is apparently common on TUF models of ASUS laptops. Sadly I bought this laptop in my country of origin but I live in another country. This means that I wont travel back anytime soon so that I can solve it through warranty.

My question is if anyone has encountered this issue and actually know of the solution to it. Im hoping that its a matter of a cable that just needs to be set better and nothing more serious.
Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,
Danijel

But what can I do to fix it. Same issue with my ASUS TUF gaming A15 which is now 5 months old.

I had my computer returned and got my money back. The issue with the power button demanded that a service partner of ASUS swap out the motherboard. After three atempts I had the right to demand money back.

They never solved the issue and I would go as far as to say that i will NEVER again buy an ASUS product. They where horrible during the whole process.

Hi

@dukep

Depending on your country, you can refer to the below link and hopefully there is international coverage. Give service center a call to confirm :)

Hi @dukep

glad to help!

sometimes, what I do is to have chat with their service center tech team to get a rough idea why it happens... like e.g. board design issues. They might not say it directly but you can roughly have an idea on it.
