audio card not being detected

Hello.

I am having issues with my laptop not detecting my audio card, neither the speakers, the microphone or the 3.5 jack work, i have seen online that is a known issue with this model's mother board, i have tried unisntalling and re installing the drivers and software but nothing works, by unpligging and pluggin back in the flex connector that connects the audio card to the motherboard fixed the issue temporarily but it does not work anymore. has anyone had this issue and be able to fix it? all help is appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

@miguelfuent8121 this "pluggin back in the flex connector that connects the audio card to the motherboard fixed the issue temporarily" sounds more like a failed audio card then a bad motherboard. Possibly a bad connector. Next I suggest you check/try this If even that should not work, you may need to consider an external USB "soundcard" Of course you could also try to replace the I/O board cable connector with something like this

Thanks for the answer. The method shown in the video is what i did before but as they mention in the comments there, is just a temporary solution. I guess i have to try getting the connector an/or a new audio card.

@miguelfuent8121 try a new flex first. Hopefully Dell created the flex contacts to be softer than the motherboard ones. Link to it is in my answer

Well I will suggest you to update outdated or malfunctioning drivers. Make sure your audio driver is up to date and update it if needed. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the audio driver (it will reinstall automatically). If that doesn't work, try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows.
