The screen on my XPS 12

The screen on my XPS 12 9Q23 is cloudy and blotchy with light and dark gray areas making it difficult to see anything on the screen. I had stopped using it for that reason, but now it is needed again, how do I get it fixed?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I've got an Acer Iconia W510 laptop that's very similar to yours and is having the almost exact same problem.

Ultimately, the most likely fix for these is going to be to replace the LCD since they've degraded and are on their way to becoming unusable. Of course, you can always get by with an external display, but it's going to be a judgement call on your part as to whether it's going to be worth it to replace the screen. I poked around a bit and it looks like new LCDs are going for somewhere between $175 and $200 USD. As noted on the Device page for this laptop, the leaking display is an ongoing problem and even if you put in a brand new screen, chances are you'll be seeing this problem again a few years down the road.

Like I said, it's your call, but personally I doubt I'd put that much money into one of these laptops, but it depends on how old it is and how much use you foresee getting out of it. At some point if you keep your eyes open you may find a replacement screen at a more reasonable price; I usually keep an eye on Amazon, eBay and AliExpress as my first source.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to locate any kind of service manual or repair guide to doing that fix, so it may be that you're on your own in figuring out how to even replace the LCD.

Sorry I don't have better news, but I know exactly what you're going through since I have two laptops doing this.

@rhondaelias @dadibrokeit as much as I do not like the big manufacturers, I do have to give credit to Dell. They have the service manual as part of the Owner's manual You can download the one for your computer from here Page 43 should at least get you in there :-)
