Why is my SD card not detected? RESOLVED

I re-inserted my SD card into my camera (after editing on my laptop). Now the camera says no SD card detected. I already went through Nikon's trouble-shooting web pages.

Update (12/14/23)

The door became loose over time. The SD card needs more pressure to make full contact. I added small bits of paper on the door, so when it closes, there's more pressure. It works now. But will it loosen more over time? Time to plan for a Z9.

The laptop definitely reads the card. After cleaning the contacts, it still can't detect the card. But, if I push it in more with my finger, it works. So, somehow the door became loose over time. I need to add pressure. So, I had a small piece of paper on the door. It works now.

Hi @bensoedjono

Try cleaning the SD card's gold contacts with an eraser or Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (if you have any) just in case you left any residues on the card contacts when handling it, preventing a good electrical connection.

Is the card still detected if you plug it back into the laptop?

If using the alcohol, allow it to dry before reinserting the card into the camera or the laptop
