Hi @justdennis

Did you mean "fan error"?

When the laptop is first started, the fan is turned on for a second or so to make sure that it is working OK.

If the fan speed is too slow, there will be a fan error message and the laptop will not continue to turn on. There's no point turning on a laptop if there's no way to keep the CPU cool and risk damaging it.

Most likely the fan will have to be replaced.

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.84 to view the procedure to remove/replace the fan assembly.

On p.144 Item #21 you will find the two part numbers for the fan. The Machine Type number of your particular model variant will decide which part number is applicable to the fan in your laptop. The MT number is shown on the product information label on the bottom of the laptop. Not sure but perhaps the part number (FRU number) may be on the fan as well.

Search online for the part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.
