Laptop freeze after startup XPS 9730

My new XPS 17 freezes after startup. I downloaded Ubuntu, VirtualBox, and Kali Linux, and now the laptop won't work. It began lagging right after unboxing, and currently, it won't open any applications—it just freezes. I reached out to Dell for a replacement, concerned about facing the same issue with the XPS, given the lack of positive reviews online, except on the Dell website. I conducted a diagnostics test, and there were no errors.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @adeboyelekan,

How many operating systems have you installed?

What are the specifications of the laptop regarding the amount of memory and the SSD capacity?

Perhaps it may be better starting again and installing one OS at a time and make sure that it works OK before installing the next

It’s a 32GB Ram and 1TB, they worked when I installed on Wednesday was busy on Thursday didn’t use the laptop so I noticed it freeze after startup on Friday. I tried to resinstall window OS but it freeze and wouldn’t complete installation the fan noise was loud at startup. I already applied for replacement. I’d just use only Ubuntu first when I get this.

@adeboyelekan

if the OS isn't loading it seems like a problem with the boot manager but whether this is on the board or due to something in the SSD I don't know.

Can you boot OK and run a Linux Ubuntu live USB (change boot order to USB 1st boot option) and check if that works.

That way it may help to isolate where the problem is
