Hi @iko30258

If the laptop is not indicating that the battery is being charged when the charger is connected, first check that there's 19V DC on the output plug of the charger to make sure it is OK.

If the charger tests OK then it may be a faulty DC-In jack (aka power adapter port).

What sometimes happens is that the centre +ve pin connection in the jack breaks internally. When this happens the path for the charger to supply power to the motherboard and also to recharge the battery is open.

To check if the DC-In jack is OK you need to open the laptop and disconnect the DC-In jack cable from the motherboard and then test both the +ve and -ve connections from the input side of the jack (where the charger plugs into the laptop) to the red and black wires on the cable plug connected to the output side of the jack i.e. test for 19V DC between the red and black wires of the DC-In jack cable plug, when it is disconnected from the motherboard and the charger is connected to the jack. Alternatively use an Ohmmeter to test for continuity of the wires from the input to the output of the jack.

If the jack is faulty it cannot be repaired, it has to be replaced. Search online for 73W6G-JRHPG to find suppliers that suit you best.

Here's the owner manual for the laptop that will help. Go to p.42 to view the procedure to remove/replace the power adapter port (aka DC-In jack).
