Rear Camera Stopped working

I bought a battery replacement kit and swapped the battery but when I was testing I noticed I couldn't use my flashlight because it said the camera app was in use. I opened the camera app and it said "something went wrong, continue anyway or restart?" I selected restart. After it rebooted I went to the app again and got the same prompt except this time it said "continue anyway or contact us?". I contacted Google and they walked me through clearing the cache, storage, uninstalling updates, then I restarted once again. After the reboot I updated the app and attempted to open it again and got the same message. I was super careful with every ribbon cable/ connector when doing the swap. The only thing I can think of is if the heating method used to soften the adhesive fried something or if I damaged something while trying to remove the battery. Can someone assist?
