Where can I check battery where are pos. And negative terminals on iPod a1574
I'd like to check battery polarity before I attempt to remove anything..

There are two ways, the first is using a Mac running CoconutBattery plugging your iPod into the Mac system. If the iPod is still working that can help in knowing the batteries state.
The other way requires disassembly to gain access to the battery directly. Here’s an image with the batteries markings.
