CD Player loads, but does not spin to be read and play.

I've opened the unit, CD loads and 'snaps' in place but will not spin despite being snapped/ loaded in place. Display will not show the number of songs on CD - it shows up as 00? All fuses were tested and all registeed as working.

A Sharp multi-function machine: Record Player, Programable Radio, CD Player and two tape decks. All except the CD work. Circa early 1990's. I love my machine - only wish I could get the CD working... Thanks for your help!!

Hi @ramanarsing

Here's the service manual that will help.

Go to p.42 (p.44 of 69 pdf numbering) to find the Troubleshooting (CD section) - the spin motor does not run and follow it through to see what the problem is.

If the motor is faulty the part number is on p.68 (p.68 of 69 pdf numbering) CD mechanism parts Item # M1 motor assembly (spin).

Search for the part number to find suppliers. I couldn't find any, hopefully you have better luck
