My macbook Pro 2010 has been resotred, and I have fixed numberous probloms, but the lid closing and the display not sencing it bugs me. Is there any way to know what the problom is and troubleshoot? Btw there are still magnets in the right places such as the lid and to the sides of the trckpad?

If you haven’t swapped-out the display (which is where the magnet is located) then there is only one other possibility the Hall sensor has failed or the ribbon cable which it is mounted to has.

Besides the HD SATA connector this cable has the SIL LED and the Hall sensor is just above the LED pressing against the uppercase.
