Do I need to replace the clock capacitor on a 1.6 or 1.6b Xbox?

Block Image

I am not 100% sure what version go xbox that I have, the dates point to 1.6 or 1.6b, and I am not sure what I need to do to keep it running for longer. I know that if I take out the clock cap on 1.6 or newer xbox I need to replace it or soft mod the software, and taking it out could lead to a new error code.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@wiibalanceboard I would recommend replacing the clock capacitor on this board in addition to all Low ESR capacitors on this motherboard to prolong its life.

Do you know how to solder?

No, but I think can learn quickly, and I can get stuff to practice before I take it apart, where is recommended to purchase the replacement caps? I have found some caps on Amazon, however this is a console that I am working on doing some maintenance on to make sure it runs for a while longer and don't want my first soldering experience being with something that I am over worried about messing up on.

@wiibalanceboard Can you upload some pictures of the console's motherboard? Adding images to an existing question

Also, what country do you live in (so I can find the best distributor)?

I am in America, and I can upload images once I get it open, I'll probably have it open by 3-4 est today
