Why is my machine leaking a small amount during the feel cycle?

I just replaced the suspension rods per your instructions and it fix the out of balance problem! Thank you! Now, however, the washer is leaking a small amount of water under the bottom of the machine when it starts the fill process. Can you tell me what could be causing this?

Hi @leellenwilliams,

What is the model number of the washer?

Also does it only leak during the fill process of the wash (and rinse cycle?) or also during the wash cycle (agitate) itself?

If only during the fill process are you using both hot and cold water or only one of the two?

If it is only occurs during the fill process (both wash and rinse) it may be coming from the water inlet solenoid valves' connections (hot or cold?).

If it occurs during the wash (agitate) cycle as well it could be a leak from where the water level pressure hose connects to the bottom of the tub. This hose goes up and connects to the water level pressure switch in the control panel

@jayeff thank you! It's model # WA3927G1.

It begins to leak during the fill process and I'm going to check the water level pressure hose as you suggested. It does not leak when I run it through a cycle with no clothes in it. I also raised the front feet up a good deal and it went through one cycle without leaking (when I had clothes in it) it all but now has started leaking again. Since it's coming from the bottom, I can't tell if it is leaking when it agitates or the spin cycle. Since it's only a small amount I believe it's leaking maybe only during the fill process

I put a load of clothes in and started it and prop the machine up with thick books so I could see maybe where the water was coming from. The water is leaking from the top of the machine down the inside of the back metal frame of the machine. So at least I know it is not leaking from any of the hoses underneath at the bottom of the machine

@leellenwilliams

If it is leaking only when in the fill mode and it is coming from the top perhaps check the rubber elbow connection between the water inlet solenoid valves and the fill nozzle where the water comes out from over the tub.

It may be that there's a split? in the rubber allowing water to escape when either of the valves are opened to let the water in for filling.

The leak shouldn't be on the hose connection side of either of the valves as the leak would be there all the time i.e. during wash, rinse and spin cycles not just when filling for wash and rinse cycles and even when the machine is off, unless you turn off the faucets that the machine's hot and cold hoses are connected to that is ;-)

Here's a video that shows how to gain access to the rubber elbow.

Here's a video that shows how to access the valves.

The videos are NOT for your exact model as far as I know but they are applicable to a lot of F&P washers so hopefully they may also apply to yours or at least give some clues as to what to try.

The parts linked ARE for your model so if there is a problem with any of them, search online for the "product code" (shown in the links) to find suppliers that suit you best.

Thank you so much! I'm going to look at these videos and try this this evening! It is leaking during the hot and cold cycles. I was finally able to check that as well. I sure hope this is the problem. It sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to fix! I will keep you posted!
