LCD Screen lines When A Slight Knock Happen and Touch Screen Issue

Ran out of characters in the titles, My touchscreen doesn't respond to my touch. for the main 14inch display has a line that shows when it has a slight knock, this happened after a small crack on the screen got larger (the crack shown up after I closed the laptop lid . I think it is an issue with the LCD display I was wondering how I can:

A: diagnosis the exact cause of the issue

B: If the screen needs replaced would I be able to put in an OLED rather then a like for like replacement of the screen and where I can find replacement parts at a fair price for my zenbook.

To fix the touchscreen I have only tried reinstalling the driver in Windows 11

Hi @althea_

What is the full model number of the laptop, as there are two model variants UX482EA and UX482EG and not all the displays used in the -EA model are compatible with the -EG model?

Also you cannot use an OLED display as the displays used in your model(s) have LED backlighting and therefore have a backlight power circuit from the motherboard to the display whereas OLED displays do not have LED backlighting as the pixels produce their own light.

If there's a crack in the display this is most probably the reason why the touchscreen doesn't work. The screen cannot be repaired it has to be replaced.

Here's an image showing the Asus part numbers for all the displays available for the two models. Search online for the part number applicable to your model (usually it can be found on the back of the display panel itself) to find suppliers that suit you best.
