Replacement LCD panel does not have rubber (heatsink?) backing

I’m replacing the broken LCD panel on my Lenovo tab M8 HD. I’ve noticed that the replacement panel I ordered does not have a square piece of rubber with punched holes attached to the back of it, as the OG panel does. See below.

I’m not sure what the material is, but it does feel like a thin thermal pad. I’m wondering if not having that pad on the back of the replacement panel is going to be any kind of long-term problem. Should I buy a thermal pad, and affix it to the replacement panel as a precaution?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @plunderkind

It is a thermal pad.

Here's the parts list for the tablet (I think).

Click on Machine Type > Select Commodity > Die-Cut Pieces\Double sided adhesive and foam (10).

The only one that I think may be it is the one listed as TB-8705 LCD Mylar&*712498328101 CS, Part No 5D78C16014.

When searching online for the part number there are other suppliers but unfortunately none show any images of the part either, so I can't verify that it is it. You could always contact Lenovo and ask them I suppose.

I would try to gently peel it off the back of the screen and place it on the new one.
