What optical drive do I get, and the hard drives

For the ODD search online for Dell D8808 to find suppliers that suit you best.

For the hard drive, the motherboard has an IDE port and a sata port so you could try using either type.

As new IDE drives would be hard to find (old technology), then if you decide to try the sata option you may have to enable the sata port in BIOS and perhaps even update the BIOS version for it to work. Also there's most probably a limit to the capacity of the drive as well. Probably 2TB.
