Perhaps the fan is faulty or the exhaust vent is clogged with dust etc.

Can you hear if the laptop's fan is operating OK or feel the hot air coming out of the exhaust vent on the left side of the laptop?

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop.

Go to p.62 to view the procedure to remove/replace the fan.

This will give you access to the fan so that you can check if it is dusty etc and needs to be cleaned or if it is faulty to replace it.

If you need to replace it, search online for L00843-001 to find suppliers that suit you best

Hp sells parts online you can order or u can buy off eBay http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05... that’s the Manuel you can also https://www.ebay.com/itm/314734746944?mk... buy this new fan it’s 11 bucks hp probably charges more but the service manual will have parts number for you to order from hp but to bypass all that I found the part you need and you can also make sure to replace the thermal paste also since you gonna take it apart anyways I’m sure that thermal paste from factory probably dried by now but hope this helps
