What are the last 3 characters of your laptop's serial numbers? What is the brand and model of your SSD? Did you try the PRAM and SMC resets? If you did not please do, then try the boot to option.

My first best guess is you need to set the jumper pins on the SSD to limit it to 1.5GBs. They are located next to where the data cable plugs in on the same side of the drive. On the drive label there should be a diagram showing how to do that. Next reset your PRAM and SMC. Click here and click here for instructions on the resets.

If you installed that drive enclosure for the optical bay, you mentioned getting earlier, I would unhook the cable to it. Leave it unhooked until you get your operating system loaded to the possibility of it adding problems to the mix.
