In these cheaper to mid range samsungs, the culpret is often a worn out charging port. The charging port is on a separate board from the main board and can be replaced pretty cheap. If you have some experience repairing mobile devices then it can be DIY'd pretty easy. If not, I'd recommend taking it to be repaired professionally.
